Description Jan Uhlir 2006-10-21 16:20:08 UTC
Version: 0.8.2 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

Subtitles hangs UI when seeking position - by dragging position bar or after a few keystrokes (arrows). Video stream with subtitles, cp1250 coding. Without subtitles - seekeing works fine.

Exact timing of UI hang is undeterministic, sometimes it hangs after a few arrow keystrokes, sometimes it took more attempts and time, but it ALWAYS hangs after while.

When UI hangs Xine engine continues in playing without interuption just without the subtitles. UI stops to react and repaint itself.

Tested with many videos, from HDD or from data DVD.

I tried standalone Xine but it works with the same videos without flaw so I guess this is Kaffeine issue.

Kaffeine: 0.8.2-0ubuntu2
Kaffeine-xine: 0.8.2-0ubuntu2
libxine1: 1.1.2+repackaged1-0ubuntu3
xine-ui: 0.99.4-0ubuntu6

Although there are not mentioned subtitles the other description fits well.

Subtitles in my case was recognized and loaded automatically without problem. I didn't have to load them manually.

This is a xine-lib bug (in libsputext).
You can reproduce with xineui (allthought it's quite random)
