Version: 1.4.3 (using KDE KDE 3.5.5) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux In the settings one can choose folders that should be part of the collection. I did this with /home/xyz/music. All subdirs are added to the collection. Adding a subdir is also handled correctly. However, if you go back into the settings and tick /home/xyz/anothermusicfolder that one is ignored unless one starts a full re-scan. I think that ticking a new folder clearly states that the user wants to add it to the collection and thus amarok should scan it immediately after the user clicks OK.
With current svn, changing the settings seem to correctly trigger a rescan
Which settings do you have to change? I'm using the current SVN version, and if I tick the box for a new folder it doesn't get scanned and added to the collection.
This bug should definitely be re-opened - I just tried it from a fresh install: 1. In the intro dialog, add /folder1 to your collection. 2. The folder is scanned and the items are added to your collection. 3. In the settings, add /folder2 to your collection. What should happen: /folder2 should be scanned and the items should be added to your collection. What actually happens: Nothing, even if you press 'Scan Changes' or have the config set to watch folders for changes. The only way to add the items from the new folder is to do a 'Rescan Collection', which has to scan all items in all folders. There should be an option to rescan a particular folder and import items from within it - this should be triggered when a new folder is added to the collection.
Re-opening due to comment #3.

Do you still have this problem with amarok 2 ?
Sorry, Amarok 1.4.x is not maintained anymore. The current stable version is Amarok 2.1.1, available in KDE 4.
