Description Maciej Pilichowski 2006-10-06 17:06:05 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Run kate or any other KDE app (just for making sure it is not a non-KDE app problem). Make it 1/4 size of the screen. Run Krita, start new image. Maximize the window. Save-as. Choose name "x.jpg", wait till the dialog with options for jpg file appears.

Now, move the mouse cursor to the quarter of the screen where (in the background) the Kate window is. Task-switch with keyboard to kate. Everything looks normal so far? Good. Move the mouse off the Kate to the big Krita window, not to the small one with jpg options.

I have set the mouse policy to follow the mouse cursor but now the focus jumps to the small window (jpg opt.), and this is correct, but also in the same time, Kate window is moved to background. Krita covers all the screen. And this is 100% not correct.

This is hardly a krita problem but a kwin one, I therefor reassign the bug to kwin and its maintainer.
Comment 2 Lubos Lunak 2007-01-26 18:08:15 UTC
There's no bug, Krita mainwindow is activated and raised as per focus follows mouse and autoraise settings. Additionally, since the dialog is modal for Krita the focus is transferred automatically to it.
Comment 3 Maciej Pilichowski 2007-01-26 20:21:20 UTC
Who said anything about autoraise? -- I set my policy just to focus following mouse, not bringing windows up.

So the fact focus is transferred is good (according to policy set), the fact the window is raised -- no (because I set policy to NOT do it).

Hi! I'm not able to reproduce this bug using KDE 4.5.2. would you like to confirm that with autoraise disabled the bug has been fixed?

thanks
