Description Jonathan Anderson 2006-10-02 14:37:30 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

After opening a file using Kate in a Konqueror tab, new tabs are started with Kate, not KHTML, so instead of seeing a web page, I see the source.

To reproduce:
1. Using Konqueror, browse to a directory containing text files (e.g. http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/edgy/)
2. Right-click on a text file (e.g. Release) and choose "Preview in Advanced Embedded Text Editor".
3. Open a new tab.
4. Open a web page using this new tab.
5. Try to figure out how to get back to KHTML, get frustrated and try to be helpful by filing a bug report.

i confirm the bug on suse 10.1 64bits kde 3.5.4
when we try to open a web page, we see the html source code... not the web page rendering...

One answer is via menu "View->View_Mode", but I do agree that this is a bug.

Since this bug has been confirmed ("i confirm the bug on suse 10.1 64bits kde 3.5.4"), can somebody mark it as confirmed?
Comment 4 Tommi Tervo 2007-03-01 08:51:25 UTC

Fixed in trunk. Additionally, I suspect bug 123552 is a dupe (although that has a http 500 page

Cannot reproduce in 4.00.83, closing.
