Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4) Installed from: Slackware Packages OS: Linux i have an old mail repository in tbb (the bat) format. trying to import it all together in kmail imports a part of it, then importer stalls (and uses most of the cpu time). turns out, three of the mailboxes cause the importer to stall. unfortunately, they contain sensitive information, though i could provide one of them upon request, if somebody could look into the problem.
Would be nice if you could send me a effected file. I take a look at the issue and handle the file confidential.

Created attachment 18491 [details] Testcase for hanging kmailcvt Thunderbird import I see the same problem, and have narrowed it down to a single message. The message seems corrupted and contains a null character, but did somehow make it into my Thunderbird mbox, and Thunderbird handled it fine. To reproduce, extract the attachment and point kmail's Thunderbird import to the enclosed directory. Oddly, mbox import works fine.
the hang still reproducible with kmail 1.9.7, kde 3.5.7 (both testcases)
I think i've got the same touble with my mail. I have to import my old thunderbird mail (The most old message is dated from 1996) and all messages have been received by netscape at this time, eudora after that, thunderbird 0.xx windows, and now thunderbird 2.006 under linux. It's global size is 2.0Go a bit huge I now. Is there a way to put kmail+kmailcvt in debug mode to find the culprit message ? If I found it I can give you some more precise information... Thanks.
