Description Joachim Lechner 2006-09-20 10:35:55 UTC
Version: 3.5.4 (using KDE 3.5.4, Debian Package 4:3.5.4-3 (testing/unstable))
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.17a

When trying to drag and drop files into folders in the sidebar the folders pop up if and only if the user has the right to write files into this directory. If the user has the right to write in a subdirectory of this directory (readonly) the folder doesn't pop up. So before the user can drop the file into the subfolder the user has to open this directory in the sidebar.

Maybe the folder should also be labeled by a symbol for read only (Like the lock for non accessible folders).

 Best regards, Joachim

Confirmed in 3.5.9, but I'm almost sure it wont be fixed on 3.5 branch so I close this report.

Dolphin instead didn't have this feature yet. I don't know if it is planned and (or) if it is asked from users.

Is planned for 4.2 as optional feature.
