Description David Talmage 2006-09-04 22:50:48 UTC
Version: 0.9.2a (using KDE KDE 3.5.3)
Installed from: NetBSD pkgsrc
OS: NetBSD

When using mplayer as the movie player, kmplayer leaves behind the mplayer process on exit. The processes are killable but they never disappear on their own.

ps aux | grep mplayer shows this after I terminate kmplayer

talmage 17498 31.9 1.0 12268 10116 ttyp0 R 4:48PM 0:03.75 mplayer -wid 44040428 -slave -vo x11 -zoom -ao arts -framedrop -vop pp=de -contrast -48 -brightness 6 -hue 0 -saturation 0 /usr/talmage/Desktop/make_me_sway_video.mov -identify

When using xine as the movie player, kmplayer does not leave processes behind on exit.

I'm using this version of mplayer which I installed as a binary package from ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/packages/packages-2006Q2/NetBSD-3.0/i386/All

    mplayer-1.0rc8nb1

I'm using these versions of xine-related packages which I installed from the same place as mplayer

    xine-lib-1.0.3anb6
    xine-arts-1.0.3anb3
    xine-ui-0.99.2nb5

I installed kmplayer as a binary package from the same place.

I cannot reproduce this. Can you confirm this still happens in newer version 0.9.3?

I'm sure this has been fixed. Since I filed it, I'm closing it.
