Version: 3.5.1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.1) Installed from: SuSE RPMs Compiler: This is SuSE 10.1 OS: Linux I have a dial-up connection to the Internet which works fine with Mozilla, but Konqueror can not connect. I get error messages like the one below: An error occurred while loading http://bugs.kde.org/wizard.cgi?os=Linux%20(i686)%20release%202.6.16.13-4-bigsmp&compiler=Target%3A%20i586-suse-linux&kdeVersion=3.5.1%20Level%20%22a%22%20,%20SUSE%2010.1&appVersion=3.5.1&package=konqueror&kbugreport=1: Could not connect to host http://bugs.kde.org/wizard.cgi?os=Linux (i686) release 2.6.16.13-4-bigsmp. I am puzzled, if Mozilla can connect, why can't Konqueror?
Does this happen always or only sometimes. Does reloading fix the problem. You report does not help much to find a solution. Could you give more information?
It happens every time, reloading does not fix the problem. All network client applications, ftp, ssh, telnet works but not Konqueror. I have a Toshiba Tecra 8200 laptop, had to install smartlink-softmodem-2.9.10-44 and do a modprobe snd-intel8x0m, but after that the network is alive (apart from Konqueror). Unfortunately I have no other connection but the modem, but I can give you any info you want, just let me know. Logs, whatever. Below is a ifconfig printout. tecra:/localhome/gunnar # ifconfig -a eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:00:39:65:CB:88 UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:02:2D:14:9A:E4 UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) Interrupt:11 Base address:0xd100 lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 RX packets:200 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:200 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:16173 (15.7 Kb) TX bytes:16173 (15.7 Kb) modem0 Link encap:Point-to-Point Protocol inet addr:83.70.0.59 P-t-P:159.134.238.228 Mask:255.255.255.255 UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:603 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:592 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:3 RX bytes:472806 (461.7 Kb) TX bytes:81468 (79.5 Kb) sit0 Link encap:IPv6-in-IPv4 NOARP MTU:1480 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
Are you sure that konqueror settings are correct? (proxies for example...) ???
Does this work under 3.5.9?
