Description Charles Hemingway 2006-09-01 21:42:51 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

When moving a large number of files (>500) files/directories from a network drive to a local drive, dialogs appear saying cannot copy file, because it appears it was deleted before it was copied. I think a file in the list was deleted while the copy was occuring (not necessarily by Konqueror), and from then on it could not read any files, because they had all been deleted by Konqueror. Alternately, this can occur if there is a file that KDE does not like to copy, like # signs, dashes, etc...

How to reproduce:
 1. Log into a remote filesystem using fish, samba, or nfs.
 2. Left click and drag a great deal of files from one window to another.
 3. Select 'Move Here' on the dialog box.
 4. Delete a file in the list (preferrably one that has not been transferred).
    -OR-
 4. Put a file with a hash in the name in the list of files to copy.
 5. Wait for error dialog.
 6. Watch other files (the ones not yet moved) disappear as they are erased.

Cannot reproduce using 3.5.9. If a file cannot be copied/moved because it has been renamed, deleted or else, konqueror ask if you want to skip the file or cancel the operation.

The same happens in KDE 4.
