Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4) Installed from: SuSE RPMs When copying some files, the dialog window changes its size all the time depending on the content of the several text boxes in it (e.g. the number of files, the size, and so on). IMO all text boxes should have a fixed (or maximum) width so that the size of the dialog window stays the same.
The size of the dialog box stays the same here. Can you give exact steps to reproduce?
Yes, just copy 2000 files from somewhere and watch the file dialog. It starts with a certain size, then when the next decade is reached (i.e. 10), it grows sideways. Then again at 100, then at 1000. It even changes size when the width of digits or letters are different (which is the case for the default non-fixed-width font), i.e. depending on the file name being copied, the dialog box grows or shrinks a little.
Confirmed on 3.5 branch r575787
Cannot reproduce on KDE 4. Confirmed on 3.5.9.
Sorry, this won't get fixed in 3.5.x Works for the lovely FiNeX, so closing.
