Description S. Burmeister 2006-08-21 19:55:03 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

Go to http://www.fiva-radrum.de/start.htm, click on the logo to open the pop-up page. Go to media at the top, click on it, scroll down and find several RealMedia-links.

If I click on any of those, a window pops up and asks me whether I want to open "rtsp://real01.kund...tatus_quo_video.rm", I click on open, another window pops up asking me, whether the file shoudl be opened with RealPlayer, I chose open with Realplayer and it opens but gives an error mesage, since i could not find the file: file:///17/ra22687058/fivamc/status_quo_video.rm.

If I put the path from the website directly into RealPlayer, it works.

To make it a bit easier here a direct link (copying to URL field has same effect):

rtsp://real01.kundenserver.de:554/17/ra22687058/fivamc/kopf_oder_kragen.rm

gets transformed to file:///17/ra22687058/fivamc/kopf_oder_kragen.rm when passed to Realplayer.

I've just tried on 3.5.9. On my system amarok try to open it and it use the correct URL:
rtsp://real01.kundenserver.de:554/17/ra22687058/fivamc/kopf_oder_kragen.rm

I cannot test it with Reap Player. Someone with Real Player installed should test it.

KDE 3 is no longer maintained and real media is just as dead. Feel free to reopen this ticket if this issue really applicable today to KDE 4.
