This might be a duplicate of http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118793, although that bug is from an older version of akregator. I'm using version 1.2.4

The characters in the title of following item broke parsing of the feed. I tried to change the title, and akregator could read it just fine after.

Judging from what you've pasted I'd say the feed is not valid.
If you think this is incorrect please upload a complete version of the file, or provide a link to it.
