Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux In some applications, (IIRC) links work OK; others, links (text and underline) disappear upon mouseover--disappear functionally, not just disappear from screen; unuseable. E.g. call up earthlink email in konqueror--SuSE 10 (installed from CDs), the link to a given message is subject[:] blue & underlined, mouseover of one message link makes that vanish, next message/link, same. I can clear entire page in less than 60 seconds. Go to checkbox next to a message first & click select, box disappears, functionally as well as visually. Email is useless under SuSE 10, and is (was) my main use for 10. Dell 4xxx (approx. yr. 2000), 512MB, 30GB/60GB Quantum/generic(?), 56K, ethernet card, RH9, Mandrake 10 (being dumped), W98, Su9 (which never did this) still I believe, HP7660, WD 250GB Media Center. No other OS has ever done anything like this. Plugins: none known. Backtraces, no. How to Reproduce: I reckon try some mouseovers, esp if you can get into Earthlink. Expected Behaviour: above. Appropriately enough, I had to go to RH(9) for my initial actions (account, pw) for this problem. FWIW, I have sworn off Winnie (Wintel-IE) as of many moons ago and did not go that route for account & pw. I don't see anything like this in existing bug reports.
Actually not sure of KDE version #; guessing. Just know I got it from SuSE CDs, one of earliest sets.
I never witnessed something like that and I do not have an earthlink mail-account. @Doug: Do you still have that bug or did it disappear with a later version of KDE?
I have avoided Konqueror for the web assiduously since and have not checked again. The only response I got was "use Firefox" [which has its own annoyences] which begs the question of what gives with Konqueror. I will have to check again. I have not been able to get (on CD) anything since SuSE 10 (I only last week signed up for broadband, up from dial-up) and so possibly still have the same problem. Thank you for inquiring. > was "use Firefox" [which has its own annoyences] which begs the question of what gives with Konqueror. Obviously they aren't aware of Konqueror's wonderfulness. :) The changelog for 4.1 is going to be quite nice, btw. Any more information you can come up with would be helpful.
Sorry -- last few days keep forgetting to go home and try Konqueror vs. Earthlink email again. Will come up with the further info you want. DGL -----Original Message----- [bugs.kde.org quoted mail]
I'm in Konqueror & earthlink webmail (dial-up) and the links tonight are not disappearing. Earthlink has the occasional unannounced bobble and that could've been some change that wasn't broadcast to the customers that didn't remain. I am though tonight still having to wetnurse Konqueror it appears: "Error code 304" (during email/web) every 30 or 60 seconds, whatever that's from, and spurious "Caps lock on" during webmail login when it clearly isn't. Let me know if you need anything further. Dial-up I believe is to be painlessly rendered motionless the next couple days and broadband / DSL is to take its place, although things being as they are it will likely take a few days actually. > "Error code 304" (during email/web) every 30 or 60 seconds, whatever that's from, Does it only happen on that website, or elsewhere too? > spurious "Caps lock on" during webmail login when it clearly isn't. Huh? You mean you get all caps, or what? Again, does it only happen on that website? This should probably be a different report. Can you tell us what version you are using? In the toolbar: Help--->About and read the number there Thanks!
