Description Pino Toscano 2006-07-30 01:43:04 UTC
Version: 1.2.2 (using KDE 3.5.3, Debian Package 4:3.5.3-1 (testing/unstable))
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16-2-k7

aKregator should have a command (a menu entry) to run manually the check aKregator does at startup for expired articles. Just like KMail has an option to manually expire all the folders.
This would be useful when eg reducing the days/article number of a feed, to delete the old article with no need to wait for the next startup.

delete expired articles is also run every hour, so it should also work if you have Akregator running for a long time. I think there should be better feedback when changing the expiry settings - right now there is no noticable effect right after changing.
Akregator could delete them right after changing the setting - but that has the drawback that the user can't undo his setting if he changes his mind/took the wrong setting. Another option: Akregator could ask "You changed the expiry setting. Do you want to purge expired articles now?". Well, such a dialog can become annoying quickly.
