Version: 3.5.3 (using KDE 3.5.3, Debian Package 4:3.5.3-1 (testing/unstable)) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16.16-kanotix-1 I cannot add html files to konqueror's navigation panel anymore (add new - web sidebar module) by browsing through the file system because the file dialog is no file dialog anymore but a directory only dialog (though the tooltip still says "Open file dialog"). So now it is impossible to select locally stored html files. The directory selecting dialog is of no use at all because when I choose a directory (maybe to show its content?) I get the message that it is a "malformatted URL". You either need to select a file (which is impossible with this dialog) or type in an URL or file path manually (then you need no dialog at all). Please change the directory selecting dialog back to a file selecting dialog.
Happens in both kde 3.5.9 and svn r808114 . Although I'm not sure if this is supposed to be what happens by default. The steps I followed were: 1) open konq 3/4 . 2) F9 to open the sidebar. 3) right mouse button on the sidebar and add new web sidebar module 4) rmb on the web sidebar module and set url 5) try to navigate through the file dialog and it can't select a specific file.
This is still wrong in KDE 4.6.3. In fact, when you create a new "Web Sidebar Module" the dialog asks for "Name" and "Path or URL" and in the path selector (which opens a FILE selector) I can select a html FILE. When I afterwards want to change the file via RMB "set URL", the dialog asks for "Enter a URL" and the dialog is now a DIRECTORY only selector. TBH I don't know what that "Web Sidebar Module" shall be used for at all, but at least it is inconsistent and in my view wrong.
