Version: 3.5.3 (using KDE 3.5.3 Level "a" , unofficial build of SUSE ) Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16.13-4-default If I want to mount my NEC usb floppy, konqueror pops up a message box with the following text: Method "Mount" with signature "ssas" on interface "org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume" doesn't exist If I use the kio floppy:/ it messages me with: Unbekannter Fehler (translation to engl.: unknown error) Can't open /dev/fd0: No such file or directory Cannot initialize 'A:' I think that it can't be a floppy-hardware-error or misconfiguration, cause any other usb-storage-devices work great, even I can boot up with this floppy. With Regards Thomas
I think /dev/fd0 explicitly refers to the floppy disk drive connected to the on-board PC floppy disk controller. You probably do not have one (either the controller or the drive).
KDE 3 is no longer maintained. Feel free to reopen this ticket if the issue is still valid in the latest version of KDE, v4.7.4 or higher.
