Description richlv 2006-07-11 09:57:55 UTC
Version: svn 560754 (using KDE KDE 3.5.3)
Installed from:    Slackware Packages
OS:                Linux

this happens with, for example, flac files & xine-lib 1.1.1, probably also other files.

when such a file was encountered before, amarok would just stop playback. now it continues with playlist, but in an incorrect manner :

two error messages about the unplayable file are shown and two tracks - unplayable and one after it - are skipped.
additionally, the track after that is started playing, then immediately restarted and it's score updated as if user had skipped it - thus the score is first set to 25 and then updated again.

Do you have crossfading enabled?

no

still reproducible (at least partialy) with svn 580652.
one way to reproduce score & playcount incorrect updating :
add a lastfm stream to the playlist, have a played track above it.
make sure your internet connection does not allow the stream to be played (maybe just firewall it off for a moment). doubleclicking on the stream shows error message, and updates playcount & score of the previous track as if it was fully played.

Hum... I think that behaviour changed again; Amarok won't play the next song if the current song isn't playable.

gotta reopen.
my xine is unable to play m4a files, but i have a couple of them in the collection. if i have such a file in the playlist, i get this behaviour (revision 662493, 1.4 branch):

amarok pops up error message that xine was unable to fins suitable demuxer plugin;
next track is not played, track after it is played instead;
score for the _previous_ track (the one before the unplayable track) is updated as if the track was skipped immediately.

both crossfading and fade out are disabled.

I can't reproduce. I'm running SVN (updated 30 July, not sure which revision) and Kubuntu 8.04 with KDE 4.1.

I'm not sure about the scores, as my scores dont seem to be updating at all (they all remain at 0) but I play the track before, it tries to play the stream (with no internet connection) and it seems to start to play the previous track again (the popup appears) but stops immediately. Playback stops here.

Crossfading and fadeout are enabled. Forgive the fairly bad post, I am at work at the moment. Just trying to help out uptil i get chance to have a go at home. I will try to reproduce with crossfading and fadeout disabled when i get chance.
