Description Atul 2006-07-09 03:51:21 UTC
Version: 1.4.1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

Procedure:
1. Insert audio CD for ripping.
2. Launch KAudioCreator and start ripping files.
3. When KAudioCreator finishes ripping a track and starts encoding it, add that file to the Amarok playlist.
4. The total playing time reported might be few seconds (this is correct as the file is still being encoded)
5. Wait for the encoding to complete.
6. Select the file for playback.
7. Note that the time has not been updated.
8. Now the slide bar indicating time shows the wrong time(it shows the length of the file when it was added to the collection) and it is not possible to drag it beyond its end (ofcourse :)
9. Cannot find a way of getting Amarok to refresh the playlist times
Comment 1 Peter C. Ndikuwera 2006-07-10 12:03:00 UTC
It's a kludge, but you can get Amarok to reread the file by issuing the command:

     touch "directory containing files"

Confirmed for Amarok 1.4.9.1.

In Amarok 2.x this behavior is mostly fixed, but playlist is still not being updated.

Comment 3 Edward Hades 2008-06-15 11:25:36 UTC
Unfortunately, this behavior will not be fixed in Amarok 1.4, as developers are currently working on Amarok 2, where this bug will (probably) be eventually fixed.
Comment 4 Lydia Pintscher 2008-08-05 23:31:15 UTC
I am sorry but this will not get fixed in Amarok 1.4 as we are focused on Amarok 2 now.

Thank you for your report.
