Kmail's ability to notify and filter on conditions of the messages could be very useful for web feeds too. For example, one may want to notified for KDE-apps posts about releases of an application, or a particular author's posts, or pipe feeds through SpamAssassin.

Maybe the non-email-specific filtering features and UI of Kmail should be separated, so that they can be used by aKregator and similar applications.

Oh yes, I saw that report but dismissed it quickly because I only read the about the hiding of filtered messages. But that report wishes for similar features as mail filtering, so mostly my wish is a duplicate. Sorry for not thinking about that.
