Version: 3.5.2 (using KDE 3.5.2, Kubuntu Package 4:3.5.2-0ubuntu18 dapper) Compiler: Target: x86_64-linux-gnu OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.15-23-amd64-k8 very likely related to already reported bug : management of drop down menus on following site boursorama.com erratic : sometimes displayed sometimes just a white blank area after using ascending vertical cursor for example !
Confirmed under KDE 3.5.5 / Kubuntu 6.10. White boxes / correct menus appear alternately going down the menu on the left hand side - i.e first popout menu 'Banque' (second menu entry in pink) does not work, the next one 'Bourse' does. When menus do not appear there occasionally seems to be a flash of the correct menu before it is wiped out by the white box - possible div-layering error? Menus work correctly under Firefox 2.0.
what do you suggest to do regarding site layout to get this corrected as we do agree on problem ? Regards.
Created attachment 19273 [details] testcase Suggestions for the site author: - don't use iframes for the menu - don't use the non-standard DOM function offsetParent - well, hire a coder who knows what on earth they're doing ;) Suggestions for Konq devs: - don't act differently based on whether iframes have ids or not - don't act differently based on whether offsetParent is called or not disclaimer: I don't know ECMAScript :)
> well, hire a coder who knows what on earth they're doing ;) Sorry, that came off rude. What I meant was, if you avoid such messy markup and scripting, there will be less such issues in the future.
Confirmed in 3.5.9, seems to be fixed in KDE 4 trunk (r803661).
indeed it works fine in trunk. closing.
