Description Matthias Wieser 2006-05-17 15:57:34 UTC
Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from:    SuSE RPMs
OS:                Linux

I have created a new konqueror profile which includes:
---
[...]
[Main Window Settings Toolbar locationToolBar]
Hidden=true
[...]
XMLUIFile=konqueror-mw.rc
---

In konqueror-mw.rc a configuration is specified where all important buttons are located in the main toolbar.

Opening konqueror with
  konqueror --profile webbrowsing_mw
works well (new mainToolBar and disabled locationToolBar)

But Opening konqueror with
  kfmclient openProfile webbrowsing_mw
leads to a completely wrong konqueror configuration:
The modifications of the mainToolBar and the locationToolBar are not loaded at all!

Additional question:
Does it have any disadvantage (speed, memory,...) if I use "konqueror --profile xy" instead of "kfmclient openProfile xy"?

Thanks!

do you still have this problem in konq 4?
Comment 2 Matthias Wieser 2009-04-07 00:01:02 UTC
Sorry, I don't know. I don't use Konqueror anymore for webbrowsing or file management.

Based on reporter's response closing as INVALID since KDE 3 is no longer maintained.
