Version: 3.5.1 (using KDE 3.5.1 Level "a" , SUSE 10.1) Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16-28-default Steps to reproduce: Create a new folder "New Folder". Go in this folder and create there a new file "Text File". Go back to the upper folder, choose it's properties -> permissions -> advanced permissions. Add an Default ACL. Ok. Choose "Apply changes to all subfolders and their contents". Ok. You get an error message like the one in the attached screenshot. Even on "New Folder", the changes aren't applied. Tries konqueror to apply also the "default acl" part of the permissions also to files? However, this bug makes working with default ACLs very uncomfortable.

Hi i tried to reproduce this bug for kde4 (trunk) the only way that made an error was checking 'apply changes to all sub-folders and their entries' and going to advanced permission and take the 'Enter' permission from user (owner). if you try to first change the advanced permissions you couldnt reproduce the bug because the 'apply to sub-folders' will be disabled. so after pressing the 'ok' button on advanced permissions, konqueror should check that if still it has access to the folders entries or no.if no, it should automatically uncheck that checkbox.
will this be fixed in any kde 3.x release? i'm using kde 3.5.10 on debian lenny and this bug still exists.
KDE 3 is no longer maintained. If this issue is still present in KDE 4, feel free to reopen the ticket.
