Version: 1.2.2 (using KDE KDE 3.5.2) Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package OS: Linux What about showing the current status of aKregator over the icon in the system tray? The number of unread messages is displayed good. But maybe you can add showing the nice exclamation mark (black symbol, yellow background), when one feed can't be retrieved. And display the icon shadowed when feeds are being retrieved, until all feeds are retrieved.
Another nice feature will be to show how many entities (normally images) are being retrieved (just as konqueror does). In a slow machine (200 Mhz), where all the CPU is used to render the HTML view of 100+ articles with images (for example freshmeat), it will be nice to know how much you have to wait to be able to read the articles in a normal way. While the HTML page is being rendered, I have to wait from pressing the PageDown key to a pagedown more than 5 seconds. Best regards.
I consider error messages in the tray noise - there are always a few feeds not fetchable (at least when you have a bigger list). I don't think one has to care about the fetching state either - the interesting thing is whether new articles arrived or not.
