Description Mathieu Jobin 2006-05-04 19:01:17 UTC
Version: unknown (using KDE 3.5.2, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.6 (Gentoo 3.3.6, ssp-3.3.6-1.0, pie-8.7.8)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16-suspend2-r1-justbudget

I'm not sure If I should fill this bug against, kicker, kwin or i dont know. please reassign if I'm wrong.

window changes notifications: when your friend writes you in a existing kopete chat window, when konqueror window finish loading, etc.

right now, KDE users gets from kicker taskbar applet. but I stopped using it. and my biggest problem right now is I don't receive change notifications anymore.

it's my fault you will say and you are right. but I'd like to try myself at fixing my problem unless and existing solution exist. I try to find existing projects for change notification and I found none.

so my question is.

#1 - is there any I missed my any chance ?
#2 - would it be hard/possible to write one. I would like to use Ruby to write it. and any tips, help would be very appreciate. such has. which class I will get a notification from ? where is the ktaskbar source located, etc.

thanks

What is your bug report?

Change notification works, but your replacement for the taskbar doesn't. Why are you filing this against kwin, and not your taskbar replacement?

sorry, I was just drawing out ideas and trying to reach for help.
I guess I can start off looking at the taskbar code and change the UI.
just close it as invalid if no more tips.

If you want insight on code, you should mail the developers directly. I think it's a NET atom.
