Version: 1.4-svn (using KDE KDE 3.5.2) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Compiler: gcc 4.0.3 OS: Linux When showing the flat view in the collection browser, trying to resize the column widths results in empty space (as per comments on http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106817 ). This is fine - the end column can be resized manually to fit - however when it reaches the point where a scroll bar *would* kick in, the columns automatically jump to being evenly spaced to fit the full width. Preferred behaviour would be to either add a scrollbar (in this instance, I think it would be appropriate, since the filter uses data from displayed columns, and the width of the browser can't be set to more than half the width of the amarok app.) or to stop resizing at the point where the scrollbar would be triggered.
scrollbar does appear if I drag far enough. Same behaviour as file browser would be good, as the columns still auto-resize.
Confirmed. This frustrating behavior also occurs if one attempts to resize the sidebar. (I have never gotten a slider to appear by dragging it "far enough", however.) As Christie suggest, the same behavior as the file browser (resize scales the columns proportionally) would be ideal.
confirmed in revision 614521 - and now it seems to be even more annoying : 1. columns resize when there is no more room (or a scrollbar could appear); 2. no matter how long or far i drag these columns, no scrollbar appears and columns flicker a lot while dragging
still there with revision 680456, stable branch.
I am sorry but we are focused on Amarok 2 now. This bug will not be fixed in Amarok 1.4. Flat view is not available in Amarok 2 (yet). Thank you for your report.
