Description Guido 2006-04-23 14:31:46 UTC
Version: 3.4.2 (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

If I load a USB-Stick, a new Konqueror window open with the content of the stick. Now I can copy / move the desktop icon (off the stick) in the open folder.

With normal folders it will not working.

No, sorry, I still don't know what you mean.

Do you mean that moving files around inside the USB disk is slow?
Comment 4 Guido 2006-05-24 21:26:53 UTC
No, I meadn, you can copy the source (USB disk) into the target.

I dont thing, it is ok. With normal folders, this copy dont work.
Comment 5 Bram Schoenmakers 2007-01-14 15:29:59 UTC
What Guido meant was that it is possible to drag 'n drop the folder on the desktop (representing the USB stick) to the window with the USB stick contents which popped up.

Is this still an issue with KDE 3.5.x?
Comment 6 Guido 2007-01-30 13:35:09 UTC
It meant, that it is possible to copy the target into the source.

In a "normal" filesystem i can not copy one foulder into the directory where the foulder is stored.

> cp /home/guido/test /home/guido/test

is an error. But if 'test' an usb-stick this cp will work.

And I think, that is an error.

And it is still working on kde 3.5.5 (opensuse 10.2).
Comment 8 FiNeX 2008-05-06 14:30:28 UTC
Confirmed on 3.5.9.
On KDE 4 this cannot be done (actually) because the desktop has been under construction with Plasma :-)

Developers will decide if forget this bug or solve it :-)

won't fix for 3, invalid for 4
