Version: (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources OS: Linux This was the funniest bug I saw recently. It is similar to 44829, so it can be said, it's a regression. Shortly: if you preview a document in katepart, even if you type a new url in the location bar, it will be opened in the katepart and not rendered as html. Furthermore any new tabs opened after this tab will open the urls in katepart. To reproduce: 1) open two tabs with HTML in Konqueror. 2) in the second tab select Preview In->Embedded Advanced Text Editor. It will show the html source 3) type something in the location bar (like dot.kde.org). It will show the html source. 4) create a new tab after this one. It will show: <html><head><title>about:blank</title></head><body></body></html> :-) Of course, opening anything here will show the HTML source. 5) create a new tab after the first tab (which has a rendered page). Everything is fine. If you closed all the tabs and the last one was a katepart tab, you cannot open any new page in rendered form, you have to close Konqui.
I can confirm this exact behavior on FreeBSD 6.1, SUSE 10.0 and Kubuntu Dapper, with various KDE 3.5 versions.
It seems fixed: I've just tested 3.5.9 and the bug cannot be reproduced. It has been fixed even on kde 4 (tested on trunk). I close this as "WORKSFORME". Do you agree?
Except of step 4 I can reproduce it with 3.5.9, but not in trunk. It can stay closed.
