Version: 1.1.1 (using KDE 3.4.3, Gentoo) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.6 (Gentoo 3.3.6, ssp-3.3.6-1.0, pie-8.7.8) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.13-gentoo-r5 Kontact always makes it's window too big for the visible screen area. Moving the window to the left so that the Minimize, Maximize & Close buttons are visible, then clicking Maximize does not make it fit. This is true of all the application making up Kontact, but does NOT happen when the apps are started individually. BTW, the button's tool tip ALWAYS says "Maximize", never "Restore". Further, I cannot resize the window horizontaly. The cursor turns to a double-arrow when held over the right or left edge of the window, but clicking and draging has no effect. I can however resize the window vertically. I normally have my KDE panel situated on the left and vertical, so I thought that might be the problem. I changed it to the bottom default position and size though and it had no effect on this issue. The monitor is a 21" and I am running xorg, now at 800x600, using the "mga" Matrox driver. I am not using a virtual screen size to make the display area larger. No other applications have this problem. Thank you.
I originally noticed KMail doing this, hence the title. I forgot to change it after I tested the other Kontact apps and confirmed they responded the same way. Sorry.
Fred: Works for me here. KDE 3.5.5/Kontact 1.2.3 Kubuntu 6.10 (edgy). I changed my resolution to 800x600 and the minimize, maximize and close buttons all appeared correctly. I am using xorg 7.1 and an ati video card
On svn trunk r867544 everythink works fine. Reopen if it reappear.
