Version: 3.5.1 (using KDE 3.5.1, Gentoo) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5-20050130 (Gentoo 3.3.5.20050130-r1, ssp-3.3.5.20050130-1, pie-8.7.7.1) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.14-gentoo-r5 Steps: 1) Settings -> Configure Konqueror 2) click a "Known Type" item 3) click a "Application Preference Order" application item 4) click "Edit..." 5) "Application" tab 6) in "Supported Filetypes:", try to "Add..." or "Remove" filetypes from the list 7) click "Ok" 8) repeat steps 4 and 5 9) Notice that none of the filetypes you added/removed were saved The file modification access time for the local application .desktop file is updated, but the contents remains the exact same as before. When this is done with a global application, you'll get an error saying you can't write to the .desktop file, when I suspect instead it should write to a local .desktop file to save your changes.
Confirmed on r519475
Using KDE 3.5.9, when I try to repeat steps 4-5, clicking on "edit" doesn't do nothing. So the bug is no more reproducible, but there is another bug: the "edit" button doesn't work the second time. I've even tested KDE4, it simply crash on the 7th point :-( I'll close this bug because: Konqueror probably 3.5.9 will not be fixed (so clicking on "edit" again will do nothing. The crash on KDE 4 is reported on bug #154542 Thanks a lot!
