Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Compiler: GCC 3.4 OS: Linux The searchbar is functioning properly, but the icons for the different search engines does not appear, except for a few (Google, LEO, Wikipedia). This is pretty crucial for the usability of the search bar, because if you just see a blank icon, you don't know which search engine currently selected so you have to select the one you want by hand, before you can type in the search query.
Here in kde 3.5.5 it only happens with a search engine I have just added. When I visit the site for the first time, the icon is added to the searchbar. However, when I click on the searchbar icon in order to see the available engines, the icon is not shown in the list. I have to enter and exit from the engine selector in order to see it properly. Is it possible to fetch the icons as soon as new engines are added?
It's not that handy but you can add the icons manually in ~/.kde/cache-<computername>/favicons.
do you still have this problem in konq 4?
I confirm this issue with Konqueror 4.4.2 (tested on Live CD Kubuntu Lucid Lynx beta 2). The icon for search engine is missing for all the search engines but few: google for example is ok. I tried to do a search with one of the engines without an icon, but the icon is still missing. Instead of the correct icons, a question mark on a page is given.
