Version: 3.4.2 (using KDE KDE 3.5.1KDE 3.4.3KDE 3.4.3KDE 3.4.3) Installed from: Mandriva RPMs0Mandriva RPMsMandriva RPMsMandriva RPMs OS: Linux Create a directory with a slash in the name, e.g. "a/b", it will be created with a quoted / on the filessystem. Then try to upload a file c in that directory to a webpage form. The warning dialog has /home/me/a/b/c and the uploaded fails in the sense that there is no file transmitted. This is a bug in Mandriva's KDE 3.4.2 package kdebase-progs-3.4.2-55mdk As it seems quite obscure, I guess the chance is high that it was not fixed. Also I could not find a fix in the bug tracker or the changelog.
Confirmed. r505606.
Just to be sure, in wich Operating System and exactly how do you create a directory with a slash in the name? It is not posibble in Linux nor in Windows.
Operating System GNU/Linux (I think Mandriva only does GNU/Linux). The folder is created by using konqueror in file view. It creates a folder which is shown as "a/b" in the main view, but named a%2fb on the filesystem if you look on the shell or in the address line if you select the folder. If konqueror offers the possibility to create and display such files with quoted filenames, it also should be possible to handle uploads obviously.
I can confirm that creating files with a slash in the name works both in 3.5.9 (Kubuntu 8.04) and SVN trunk rev. 808111 with Konqueror and Dolphin. I can confirm the bug in 3.5.9, but SVN trunk seems to work fine (uploaded a html file to http://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_upload ). Interestingly, the slash inside the directory name looks different from the ones between the directory names in the Konqueror or Dolphin location bar in trunk. This is the case even if I copy a slash which occurs between directories in the location bar and paste it into the "New Folder..." dialog.
Works fine in KDE 4.x. Feel free to reopen if that is not the case for you.
