Description Mathias Homann 2006-01-09 22:35:54 UTC
Version: 3.5 (using KDE 3.5.0 Level "a" , SUSE 9.2 UNSUPPORTED)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 (pre 3.3.5 20040809)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8-24.19-default

kwallet (or maybe the khtml part that is responsible for forms?) doesn't fill in passwords in password fields unless a key is pressed.

testcase: here (meaning bugs.kde.org) or any other site that has a password field.
Comment 1 g111 2006-02-27 22:23:38 UTC
Maybe this is the same bug as I would like to report:

After filling in the password from kwallet into a password-form (e.g. on www.ebay.de -> "Mein Ebay" -> "Einloggen") the password field is not refreshed. I have to move the mouse to make konqueror refresh the password field so that the stars are shown.

This is not a big thing, but it is irritating sometimes.

KDE 3.5.1 debian/unstable
Comment 2 Mathias Homann 2006-02-28 06:53:03 UTC
sounds like it is the same
Comment 3 Andrey Borzenkov 2006-03-18 08:15:50 UTC
I confirm original report for KDE 3.5.1 + patches from SVN (Mandriva cooker, currently kdebase 3.5.1-4mdk). It does not happen always, but for some sites I have been experiencing it more often. Last several forms with saved passwords never automatically filled in password. That is rather annoying :)
Comment 4 Jens 2006-06-21 09:53:08 UTC
This is a dupe of Bug 126970. Please mark as such.
Comment 5 Philip Rodrigues 2006-09-23 14:04:39 UTC
NB, there's a typo in the bug number in the previous comment - 126970 isn't related to this one
Comment 6 Mike Williams 2007-01-08 04:44:24 UTC
I can confirm this, although I don't have a test case. Happens quite often on KDE 3.5.5/Slackware.
Comment 7 Tommi Tervo 2007-01-08 09:00:12 UTC
*** Bug 126790 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Comment 8 Andrey Borzenkov 2007-03-08 12:36:53 UTC
Still valid for 3.5.6 (but happens much less frequently, actually I had it first time since update).
Comment 9 Luke 2007-03-30 02:35:32 UTC
Confirmed for 3.5.6. I have never seen this bug before upgrading to 3.5.6, now it happens every time.
Comment 10 Christophe Marin 2008-04-06 15:14:00 UTC
Can't reproduce with SVN version (r793966). This bug can be closed.
Comment 11 Michael Leupold 2008-04-21 11:07:20 UTC
I can still reproduce the bug in trunk r799198 as well as 3.5.9.
Comment 12 Christophe Marin 2008-04-21 11:55:21 UTC
Well, confirmed : I see a regression with latest SVN rev as well.
Comment 13 Andrey Borzenkov 2009-01-08 08:55:28 UTC
I just have seen it again in KDE4 (Mandriva RPM based on 4.1.85) when logging in to KDE bugzilla :)

Is it possible to bump version here or separate bug report is needed?
Comment 14 Andrey Borzenkov 2009-08-01 13:42:12 UTC
Still valid in 4.3 RC2.
Comment 15 Jürgen Starek 2009-08-06 12:50:35 UTC
I can no longer reproduce this in 4.3.
Comment 16 Andrey Borzenkov 2009-09-12 15:25:51 UTC
Still valid in 4.3.1
Comment 17 Tommi Tervo 2010-01-26 20:55:26 UTC
Works for me (Version 4.4.59 (KDE 4.4.59 (KDE 4.5 >= 20100107)))
No need to move mouse or touch KB.

Could you Michael pinpoint some commit which could have fixed this bug?
Comment 18 Michael Leupold 2010-01-30 09:00:28 UTC
Unfortunately I can't. I'm not well acquainted how khtml accesses the wallet (only looked at it once I think). It certainly wasn't me who fixed it if it really is fixed :-)

Message from the Bugsquad and Konqueror teams:
This bug is closed as outdated, as we do not have the manpower to maintain the KDE3 version anymore.
If you still can reproduce this issue with Konqueror 4.8.4 or later, please open a new report.
Thank you for your understanding.
