Version:           stable that comes with 3.4.3 (using KDE KDE 3.4.3)
Installed from:    Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS:                Linux

The startup of an app is up to 20 seconds. It is several times slower than kmail startup. The configuration is usual. The machine is good. I've installed binaries that come from debian tested/unstable (latest) and Slackware 10.2 with the same results.
It could be related to using the metakit as DB backend and/or unoptimal DB queries.

Could anyone try to optimize queries and reimplement code to use sqlite or firebird?

That bug should be fixed in KDE 3.5, otherwise please reopen the bug.
