Description Jens 2005-10-05 09:47:44 UTC
Version: 1.8.2 (using KDE 3.4.2 Level "b" , SUSE 10.0)
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.13-9-default

How to reproduce:

Setup an IMAP account with multiple subfolders, many of which aren't up to date.

Start search ("s") when an IMAP account is marked (NOT a folder below it, the account itself, with the "computer" icon).

Search all folder for something,

=> Kontact / KMail will pop up with a message saying "To perform this search all messages in the folder FOO must be downloaded. This can take some time. Do you want to continue anyway?"

I have 13 subfolders, and I got 13 of these messages. Also, my loudspeakers crackled wildly, because KDE tried to play 13 "system notification" sounds at the same time. (different bug)

IMHO this should either be throttled somehow or all the questions should be put into one popup window.

Thanks,

Jens

I've just run into the same bug using KMail 1.9.5. I was doing a search in my IMAP account Inbox, and all its subfolders (probably 50+ total) so I was issued the "To perform this search all messages... must be downloaded..." confirmation message 50+ times. This is most unfriendly.
