Description Wilbert Berendsen 2005-09-29 00:31:12 UTC
Version:           1.8.91 (using KDE 3.4.91 (beta1, >= 20050910), Gentoo)
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.5-20050130 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.5.20050130-r1, ssp-3.3.5.20050130-1, pie-8.7.7.1)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.11-gentoo-r1

Sometimes when I start Kontact, new messages that are downloaded are put in my Inbox, while they match a filter that checks if the sender is in a certain category in my addressbook.

When I press Ctrl+J on such messages the filter does match and the messages are moved to the correct folder.

So it seems the KMail filters do not have al information about the categories available when the mail is downloaded at the startup of Kontact.

This is introduced in Kontact from KDE 3.5 beta 1

Since 3.5 beta 2 this bug seems to be gone. Will reopen if it happens again.

It happened again in RC1. It seems esp. to occur when Kontact starts slowly due to heave CPU usage by other processes. KMail already starts moving mail (just from a local Maildir to KMail inbox) while KAdressbook's not yet loaded, or something like that.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
