Version: (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources I am seeing this window on my 1024x768 desktop, and for some reason I have a vertical scroll bar. I would like to remind you that KDE still has a 800x600 policy. I know that I can still see the content of the page, since I do have the scroll bar, but really... the scroll bar not only is ugly, but it takes a lot of space on 800x600. My suggestion: How about spliting each group of settings into a new tab in the same window? At least separate this page into 2 tabs... I would like to see a kcontrol that is viewable on 1024x768 without scroll bars. (I am complaining, since I started making some cute flash videos about configuring stuff on kde, and I need to do that on 800x600. If it does not feet in 1024x768, it will definetly not fit in 800x600, and those scroll bars take a lot of place, and are ugly, see for yourself) BTW: I really like the new search implementation, thanks to the dud that coded it :)
There are a lot of dialogs which doesn't fit well on 1024x768. This problem is still reproducible on 3.5.9. The situation on 4 is a bit better (on 1024x768). Probably it won't be fixed on 3.5.x. Anyway, where can I found the policy about how KDE 4 should behave?
Can confirm the issue for 800x600 on KDE4.1's konqueror. 1024x768 works fine. @finex: The already existing parts of the KDE4 Human Interface Guidelines is what you're looking for, i guess. They can be found in the Openusability-Wiki. For dialogs see: http://wiki.openusability.org/guidelines/index.php/Design_and_Layout:Layout:Dialogs
Message from the Bugsquad and Konqueror teams: This bug is closed as outdated, as we do not have the manpower to maintain the KDE3 version anymore. If you still can reproduce this issue with Konqueror 4.8.4 or later, please open a new report. Thank you for your understanding.
