Version: 3.4.1 (using KDE KDE 3.4.2) Installed from: Gentoo Packages Compiler: GCC 3.4.4 OS: Linux If you enter a directory by clicking on it in the icon view section of the konqueror file manager, the directory you entered becomes selected in the tree view part. This lets you know which directory you are currently in. However if you enter a tarball (.tar.gz file) then the tree view does not change. It does not show the directory you are currently viewing. Suggested change: when entering a .tar.gz or other archive, select it in the tree view control. Note that this problem also applies for sub-folders of the archive.
I can confirm this on r620k.
Do you mean that the tree view on the sidebar? I can confirm this behaviour on 3.5.9 and even on konqueror 4 (dolphin part).
@Peter: If you need I can open a new bug report for Dolphin about this problem.
> @Peter: If you need I can open a new bug report for Dolphin about this problem. I have not verified this in Dolphin, but I assume that the same issue occurs there too :-( It would be great if you could open a new bug report for this. Thanks in advance!
Ok, Peter, later I'll open a bug report on Dolphin. :-)
Done, I've opened the bug #161663. Anyway I've a feeling that this bug will not be solved on konqueror 3.5.x. :-)
Message from the Bugsquad and Konqueror teams: This bug is closed as outdated, as we do not have the manpower to maintain the KDE3 version anymore. If you still can reproduce this issue with Konqueror 4.8.4 or later, please open a new report. Thank you for your understanding.
