Version: 1.1.2 (using KDE KDE 3.4.2) Installed from: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux This is possibly subjective. I have two monitors and I use Xinerama. My kicker spans both monitors and that works well. The pop-ups generated by akregator appear on the first screen, but the kicker icon for it is on the second screen. Specifically, screen 1 is on the left, screen 2 on the right. The kicker icon for akregator is over on the right hand side of screen 2. The pop-ups appear at the right-hand edge of screen 1. That would be correct if I only had a single monitor. I believe the pop-up should come either: * from the far right hand end of the kicker to emulate Windows pop-ups such as Messenger and the like or * near the location of the kicker icon for the program generating the pop-up The benfit of the second approach is that pop-ups from different programs could avoid each other if the user set it up that way. That would be an improvement on the crazy vertical stacking in Windows where it can get to 4 pop-ups high when there's lots going on (notably when you connect to the network). I'm easy going on the choice between the two, or even leaving it as-is.
Created attachment 29989 [details] Screen shot showing where the notification appears in Akregator 1.3.3
Unfortunately the notification in Akregator 1.3.3 (under KDE 4.1.3) is still a little odd (to me anyway). My plasma panel is at the bottom of the screen, but my notification appears at the top in the centre. I've attached a screen shot as akregator_1.3.3_notification.png. I can only get my panel onto one monitor in KDE 4.1 so I don't know if the originally reported behaviour exists too. I'm still not too bothered about this.
This should be fixed now (I can't remember if it got into KDE 4.2, otherwise its in 4.3) with the notifications plasma applet (or whatever the thing is called, I can't remember precisely). Basiaclly, these kind of notifications will appear wherever your system tray plasma applet is now.
I can confirm it's fixed in Akregator 1.5.1 under KDE 4.3.1. It seems to stack tidily with other notifications too. Thanks for chasing it up.
