Version: 3.4.1 (using KDE 3.4.1, Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker) Compiler: gcc version 3.4.3 (Mandrakelinux 10.2 3.4.3-7mdk) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.11-6mdk In konqueror using detailed view and if i selec files and then click outside those selected files, they continue selected, it only deselect them if i right click in empty area. Note that the area im talking is an empty area in front files, because if you click in the area that is below files, there the left click deselects the selected files. I remember that in kde-3.3.2 this was working fine, so why is this bug appearing again in 3.4.1?
I cannot reproduce this in any view mode in Konqueror, trunk 430645 or KDE 3.4.1 (SuSE).
In first place i want to inform all that this is the last time i will answer to Thiago Macieira, i entered irc to explain him how to reproduce this and other bugs and he just keeps ignoring me, so i also ask him to dont reply again to any other bug report i do, thak you. The bug continues existing. Ill explain in details. So in konqueror using the Info List View, choose a directory that fills the konqueror screen completly. Now left click in one file, and just just left click in an empty part of the window and u will see that the file continues selected, you can only deselect the file if you right click in the empty area. Now if the folder just have for example 5 files and after u select a file with the left click, you can also deselect the file with the left click but only in the empry area that stays in the bottom of files. In resume to deselect files is possible with right click in the empty area in front of files, or with the left click but in the empty area in the bottom of files. I know my english isnt enough to explain better, but i hope you can understand me.
Please keep bug reports here. IRC isn't the place for them. Now I understand what you mean. I can reproduce this behaviour both in KDE 3.4.1 and trunk 430645. However, I think this behaviour is intentional. I'll leave it up to the maintainers to decide what action to take. Note: you can unselect by pressing Ctrl while clicking the same file.
Im not a newbie, i know all that, and you thing this is intentionall? give me a break... I remember that in 3.3.2 this wirked fine, yet now is again buggy.
I'm not a developer, but my 2 cents is that this is buggy behaviour.

I can't reproduce this with KDE 3.5.5. Zé: do you still get this behaviour with the lastest version of KDE?
Im using kde-3.5.5 from branch_3.5 and continues. Have you really what is the bug about? Using detailed list view and clicking outside a file it selects the file, and to deselect a file you can only do it by right clicking in an empty area.
Using branch_3.5 svn release 713782 and this continues being an active bug
KDE 3.5.9: if I select on the "free" space on the right the file on that line is selected (and if there were other selected files, them will be un-selected). KDE 4: (dolphin) if you're on "detailed list" and you have one or more files selected and you click at the left of files (out from the filename column) you'll deselect all files. Probably the actual behaviour of KDE 3.5 will not be changed because the development is done mainly on the new KDE 4. Developers will fix relevant bugs only in KDE 3.5.
