Version: 3.4.1 (using KDE 3.4.1,%20Gentoo) Compiler: gcc%20version%203.4.4%20(Gentoo%203.4.4,%20pie-8.7.8) OS: Linux%20(i686)%20release%202.6.11-gentoo-r7 After clicking on some links to an other website randomly the web window will crash with the following message: An error occurred while loading http(s)://website The process for the http(s)://website protocol died unexpectedly. if than te reload button is clicked the website will be shown again properly. (but if your have form data in it, this will sometimes be lost) it also happens in konqueror plugins in 'akregator' so it seems it have to do with khtml... this was also the problem with kde 3.4.0?
If it is a picture the message will be shown in an popup dialog box rather as a 'webbased text'
Same problem. Gentoo, kde 3.4.1 No aggressive flags.
Same Problem, Gentoo, kde 3.4.2 An error occurred while loading http://***.****.*** The process for the http://***.****.*** protocol died unexpectedly. this can be on any site or image CFLAGS="-O -march=pentium4 -pipe"
I have info screen running our cafe which displays some internal web pages in 5s interval (static html pages which are coming from same server) . The 'protocol died unexpectedly' bug will appear within 24h every day.
Created attachment 12534 [details] debug output Attachment shows log after bug has occurred. This is reproducible on kubuntu konqueror and RHEL-4 self compiled SVN 3.5a1 packages.
I had this problem some time ago with kde3.5. In my case it was caused by openssl (libcrypto) version mismatch. When I repaired libcrypto the problem never came back.
Changed severity to "crash". I hope to have selected only the right bugs (>100) :-)
Someone is able to reproduce this crash on KDE 4.3 or trunk? It looks like a very old problem and I'm not able to reproduce (sincerly I've never had this one since I'm using KDE 4)
