Version: 3.4.0 (using KDE 3.4.89 (CVS >= 20050314), yes) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.11 Curently the default keyboards shortcuts for switching to the next/prev tabs in Konqueror are Ctrl+. and Ctrl+, When trying to assign alternate keyboard shortcuts one can encounter the following: 1) some shortcuts work fine, like Ctrl+; or Win+. or Win+F11 2) some shortcuts don't work at all, like Ctrl+F11 or Ctrl+F12 (yes, these are global shortucts for virt. desktops with high numbers that are seldom used anyway) 3) some shortcuts work "one time", like Shift+Arrows. After switching to a next/prev tab this shortcut doesn't work any more until another tab is activated. Case 2) suggests that probably settings in .kde/share/apps/konqueror/konqueror.rc are overridden by something else.
I can partially confirm this in 3.5.9 (Kubuntu 8.04) and SVN trunk rev. 808111: Both versions behave in 1) and 2) as described. SVN trunk actually warns that Ctrl-F11/F12 are global shortcuts, but gives me the choice to reassign these. However, they don't work for switching tabs even after the reassignment. I cannot confirm 3): Shift-Left/Right/Up/Down works fine for me in both versions.
cases 1,2 and 3 works in svn trunk 838250. There is an exception to case 3, when one tab is using a kate preview, then kate keyboard configuration has preference over konqueror shortcuts. Is this the desired order of keyboard handlers?
@Jaime: IMHO it is correct that the embedded app uses its shortcuts.
