Version: 3.4.0 (using KDE 3.4.0, Gentoo) Compiler: gcc version 3.4.3 (Gentoo Linux 3.4.3, ssp-3.4.3-0, pie-8.7.6.6) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.11-rc2 this is a strange one: when i drag files around on my desktop, the cursor flickers between the normal "you're allowed to drop here" arrow, and the "you're not allowed to drop here" barred circle. this happens when i'm dragging over a valid place to drop. 50% of the time the drop will succeed (presumably because the pointer was an arrow) and the other 50% it fails. note this is not always reproducible.
Can't reproduce on KDE 3.5.2, debian sid
I frequently encounter the same issue, but with kicker panels. I wonder if it's related to this. It makes valid drag and drops on kicker panels impossible, and the only way to fix it seems to be restarting kicker. That fixes it temporarily until it happens again. I still haven't figured out how to reproduce it. This is on Debian 4 with KDE 3.5.7, by the way, but I've encountered this with the last several versions, too. Next time it happens I'll try to remember to test the desktop and see if it behaves the same way.
still got this problem, too. btw, it is also mentioned here: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119299
Kdesktop is no more mantained. Fortunatly this bug seems not to be valid for KDE 4. Please reopen if this bug is not a kdesktop one (and it is not solved) or it can be reproduced on KDE 4.
Bug closed. Kdesktop is no more mantained.
