Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.92)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: 3.4.3 gentoo default
OS: Linux

There is a mimetyp for *.bin *.BIN missing.

you can play *.bin files with mplayer , kmplayer , xine ... if they are videos.

if there is a *.cue file you can burn the bin images with k3b.

*.bin is generic binary file, of contents unknown. Associating it with any program is not correct.
Comment 2 christian 2005-02-07 18:48:04 UTC
ok but add an empty mimetype so people can associate something with it.
Comment 3 christian 2009-12-05 18:34:02 UTC
should i close this bug as WONT FIX?
Comment 4 Christoph Feck 2011-07-26 15:03:30 UTC
There is an "application/octet-stream" MIME type, which has a ".bin" extension. I can configure applications to open ".bin" files using KDE 4.7.
