Version: 1.0-beta8 (using KDE 3.3.2 Level "a" , unofficial build of SUSE )
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 (SuSE Linux)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.5-7.111.30-default

I have the following rss-feed: http://www.webwereld.nl/rss/trillian.rss

When I open an item in Akregator from this feed and click on "Read more..." an new empty tab opens and also a few unwanted Firefox windows. One of those windows shows the article, the other ones are empty.

All other feeds I have behave normal, when clicking on "Read more..." a new tab is opened with the article, middle click on "Read more..." opens the article in Firefox (as configured).

Opening an article internally in Akregator should never open extra external browserwindows.

Cheers,

Jeroen

Works fine here in KDE CVS (2005-01-25)

Note: Also have Firefox as the default browser for KDE

I have the same problem, when I set my default browser in the "component chooser" dialog in KControl to something different, it opens a new empty tab on middleclick, but the feed is displayed in the external browser.

I definitely have the akregator setting to open links as an (background) tab instead of the external browser selected. And when I reset the setting in the component chooser to use the default program for http and https urls, it works again.

However, beta8 didn't have the problem it startet with beta9.

When setting the browser to 'system default' under kde-components, all works fine. You still have to set Firebox as the default browser under 'file associations'.

So it's not a aKregator issue, but a KDE global one, closing this bug and waiting to open a KDE-base-bug when 3.4 is released.

Cheers,

Jeroen
