Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.0)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources

Mails in KMail have a unique identificator number.
KMail also provides a DCOP function to open a message viewer for a given mail id.

I would want to be able to drop a KMail message in my application in order to create a sort of link to this mail: clicking such link would start KMail (if not already started) and ask KMail to show the mail.

Eventualy with a boolean parameter to say if I want the message to be opened in a viewer window or if the main window should open the folder than contain the messages and then point the preview pane to that message.

Hi folks
It would also be nice if attachments of a composed mail could be drag and dropped to another composed mail or somewhere else.

Now one can create to-dos from kmail but only with one! email attached. It is not possible to attach multiple emails to a todo in korganizer by drag and drop even if using maildir folders.
This is really a very important feature that is not far away and should be implemented with high priority. It has now a duplicate in Bug 142358:

If taken as a general request for the ability to link to Kmail emails from other applications, then this bug has several potential dupes:
Bug 115572
Bug 142358
Bug 164394
