You can configure the middle click behaviour in the configuration dialog->browser. We could change the default though. About closing, I rather refuse to change things like middle click behaviour in the browser widgets. It most certainly breaks the usage of the browser and results in inconsistent behaviour in e.g. konq and akregator. Mind that in a form, you normally use middle click for pasting from the clipboard. To close the widget quickly, you can use Ctrl+W. These should be mentioned in the context menu of the tabs of course. I tried to add them, but for some reason, they don't show up here. I did not see the middle-click configuration, you're right. About that closing, I did not think of those tabs as brwoser-windows, because I only use them to read, but you are right here too. I guess if konqueror would support Opera's and fierfox's mouse gestures, i.e. the ones it does plus the "rocker gestures" http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73434, I would not have come to think about this. Displaying the short-cuts in tooltips is a very good idea. I know about CTRL+W, yet when I read, I usually become a leaning back, mouse-only guy. ;) I close this as worksforme, yet plea to make middle-click open articles in new tab as default. I think this is also the common behaviour for newest mozilla and of course konqueror when middle-clicking bookmarks. Thanks a lot! |
