This bug still exists in KDE 3.3.2. I have never had problems with the io slaves I use. I have just tested this with fish:// and it works perfectly well using cvs HEAD. My friends tells me that it is working with kate in KDE 3.3.1 and 3.3.2 as well. Since you seems not to be opening the remote file, but rather a local copy I suggest that you fix that instead. Could you please see if that works and close these bugs if so? I will close them in a few days unless you have compelling information to support that there is a bug in kate/kwrite. This is possibly a Debian specific issue. It seems to work for most people. Closing. See bug #95975 for further info. This problem is interlinked with that one. This problem is interlinked with that one. As a final comment on this report, I have been talking to anders on irc, and it turned out to be configuration problems with his KDE installation. I have this problem on FreeBSD and ubuntu/Kubuntu. How do you fix it and what is the cause? thanks in advance I don't know. I seem to remember that one day I updated or maybe even reinstalled my system, and the problem was gone. Check out bug #95975 for more info which just might be helpful. |
