.au file having length ?, but is played by amarok

Description klaus 2004-12-22 19:03:03 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

many of the .au files distributed with xboing show a character "?" in the length field of meta information. Some of them are played by amarok while others are not. All of them are played by aplay, so the files are playable.

Because noatun has the same problem as amarok it might be in one of the kde audio libs.

1) You forgot to mention which audio engine you are using. From mentioning Noatun I deduce that you are talking about aRts-engine.

2) You did not specify the program version (makes the report invalid really).

3) The track length (as well as the tags) is determined by TagLib and KFileMetaInfo (as fallback). amaroK has no control about this.

Comment 4 klaus 2004-12-27 19:29:22 UTC
1) yes it is arts

2) it is amarok 1.0-cvs (as contained in suse 9.2 with kde3.3.0)

3) the missing track length was the only difference to other .au files I could find. I do not know if amarok or noatun use this information

Arts is no more mantained. I'm sorry, but I've to close this bug.

If you are still experiencing issues with KDE4, please open a new report against phonon.

Thanks.
