Same problem on other HW... This error appears on the other pc when connecting to WinXP share. Behavior is similar to first case. Same problem on kde 3.3.2, gentoo with 2.6.9 as kernel Same problem with SuSE 9.2, latest patches applied, kernel 2.6.8-24.5, KDE 3.3.2 level "a". It's weird as the _same_ KDE version (but of course from rpm's for 9.1!!) run's on a SuSE 9.1 without any problem. And, afaik, the issue come up with the update from about Thuesday, 09. Dec. 2004. Little workaround (not very well tested): use file system type "smbfs" instead of "cifs" does the job. F.e. i had an automount entry to mount a samba share as a cifs. Month ago i switch from smbfs to cifs because in SuSE 9.1 there where issues using smbfs (not stable over a longer uptime period). Now i must switch back to smbfs. I DON'T know if smbfs now in 9.2 is more stable. So don't blame me if you often have to remount. BTW: The frozen app can be killed. But konqueror start's a session in the background which could NOT be killed anymore. Not by the user, not by root. Not using sig 1, 15 oder even 9. You have to restart the machine (which hangs by not being able to unoumt the mountpoint). As i saw in comment #2 it's not related to SuSE (which i thougt in the first time). |
