*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 86426 *** I do not think this bug has anything to do with bug 86426 since turning off RT in Sound System Config does not help. It is only X that stops (blank page with moveable mouse pointer). Turning off aRTs instead produces the following knotify crash - SIGSEGV. Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/libthread_db.so.1". [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] [New Thread 1102541472 (LWP 4967)] [KCrash handler] #7 0x4237b39a in Arts::Dispatcher::createRequest () from /opt/kdecvs/lib/libmcop.so.1 #8 0x42387230 in Arts::Object_stub::_lookupMethod () from /opt/kdecvs/lib/libmcop.so.1 #9 0x423866c8 in Arts::Object_stub::_lookupMethodFast () from /opt/kdecvs/lib/libmcop.so.1 #10 0xbfffe6c0 in ?? () #11 0xbfffe720 in ?? () #12 0x415ba157 in _int_free () from /lib/tls/libc.so.6 Even easier then: If X is crashed by a process that doesn't have superuser-priviliges then you either hit an X11-bug or a kernel-bug. Furthermore this backtrace is not helpful because it contains no debug-symbols. I have seen this again. When a process crashes during logout two things can happen. 1) If it is early in exit you get a drkonqi window. 2) If it is late, everything stops... (window system closed, new window cant be shown - waiting for termination of applications?) Does this problem still exist? This is presumable an X problem. Have not seen this in years. |
